DAY 1 – CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI

DAY 2 – CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI – PREPOTTO

Embark on a journey from the Langobard Town to Castelmonte, the oldest sanctuary in the Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, offering a panoramic view of the Friuli plain and the Slovenian Brda. Conclude the day with a delightful glass of wine in Prepotto or opt for the official Alpe Adria Trail.

DAY 3 – PREPOTTO – SMARTNO

Traverse along the Italian-Slovenian border through vineyards of the Collio and picturesque churches, culminating in Smartno, a charming residential area in Brda, where views extend from the Carnic Alps to the Adriatic Sea.

DAY 4 – SMARTNO – CORMONS

Journey through landscapes adorned with DOC vineyards and indigenous grape varieties, arriving in Cormons, a town exuding Habsburg charm and renowned for its cultural significance in the Collio region. Indulge in fine wines at the Enoteca on the main square.

DAY 5 – CORMONS – GRADISCA D’ISONZO

Trek through the scenic Görzer Collio terrain with vineyards to reach Gradisca. Explore the historic town, witnessing remnants of the fortified walls and the regional wine store in the Palazzo dei Provveditori, known as La Serenissima.

DAY 6 – GRADISCA D’ISONZO – MONFALCONE – DUINO/SISTIANA

Depart Gradisca d’Isonzo and traverse the karst landscape, marked by World War I remnants. Pass by notable landmarks like Doberdo del Lago and the river Timavo before reaching Duino/Sistiana, with an optional bus ride available.

DAY 7 – DUINO/SISTIANA – TRIESTE

Embark on the Rilke trail to Prosecco and journey along the karst terrace to Trieste, the capital of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Unwind in the evening at the Piazza Unità d’Italia, surrounded by majestic architecture.
