Day 1: Transfer in, Mariscal Sucre Airport – Hotel in Quito

On this day you will land in one of the most beautiful cities of the region. Our staff will be waiting for you upon your arrival to give you a warm welcome, will offer you a briefing about your trip and will provide you with information about the capital of Ecuador.
Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is located at 2,850 meters above sea level, which makes it the second highest capital in the world after La Paz. Quito is known as “The Little Face of God” or “Quito Light of America.” It is surrounded by eight volcanoes, some of them eternally snow-capped, with Pichincha being the most accessible by cable car.
We will explore its historic center, declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1978. This well-preserved old quarter is a labyrinth of narrow streets, colonial churches, monasteries, mansions with balconies full of flowers and public squares. Walking through its streets you will be transported to the colonial era; here you will find museums, the best boutique hotels in the city, handicraft shops, workshops and chocolate stores, restaurants, banks, and cafés that evoke the flavors of Quito’s gastronomy.

Day 2: Quito City Tour – Chocolate Experience – Middle of the World

At the agreed time, we will begin the tour with the transfer from your hotel to the historic center of Quito, considered one of the best preserved in Latin America.
The visit begins at the emblematic Independence Square, where the Presidential Palace is located, surrounded by important historic buildings. We will continue with the Church of La Compañía de Jesús (1605), a jewel of Baroque art in America, famous for its impressive interiors covered in gold leaf and its detailed elements of Moorish influence.
Afterwards, we will enjoy a delicious experience in an Ecuadorian chocolate shop, where we will learn about the renowned fine aroma cacao and its production process.
Next, we will ascend to the viewpoint of El Panecillo, one of the icons of the city, from where we will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Quito and its famous Winged Virgin. We will also make a stop at the Basilica of the National Vow to admire its imposing neo-Gothic style and take incredible photographs.
You will enjoy free time to have lunch at a local restaurant (lunch not included).
In the afternoon, we will visit the Middle of the World City, where you can stand on the equatorial line and participate in cultural and interactive activities, as well as learn about the history of the French Geodesic Mission, which determined the exact location of the equator. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel for your rest. Return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 3: Cotopaxi National Park
Today you will continue your journey towards the south of the province to enter through the northern entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, crossing the impressive landscapes of the Andes mountain range. You will cross the lower part of the park until reaching Limpiopungo Lagoon, where you will take a short walk. From here, if the weather allows, you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the profile of Cotopaxi volcano.
Afterwards, you will visit the Interpretation Center, ideal to have a hot tea or coffee and learn more about the region. Then you will go by vehicle to the Arenal parking area, from where you will begin an uphill walk on a sandy slope.
Depending on your physical condition and the weather, this walk can last between 1 and 2 hours. Your effort will be rewarded upon reaching the José Rivas Refuge, at 4,864 meters above sea level. If the weather allows, you may even continue a little further until reaching the snow.
After this unique experience, you will descend to a century-old Andean hacienda to enjoy a well-deserved lunch (not included).
Finally, you will continue the journey towards Baños de Agua Santa, crossing mountainous landscapes and Andean valleys, until reaching this charming destination, where you can rest and prepare for the next adventures.

Day 4: Otavalo Market and Kawsaymi Ancestral Experience

Begin the day early with a trip to the famous Otavalo Artisan Market, recognized as one of the largest and most colorful indigenous markets in South America. Here you can appreciate the cultural richness of the Kichwa people, as well as a great variety of textiles, handicrafts, jewelry, and traditional products.

Day 5: Transfer out – Journey to the Amazon

Journey to the Amazon with departure very early in the morning. On the way we will make a stop to visit Guango Lodge, where it will be possible to observe a great variety of hummingbirds and Andean birds in a privileged natural environment within the cloud forest. We will continue the journey towards the interior of the Amazon, where arrival at the lodge is scheduled around midday. Upon arrival, the staff will give you a cordial welcome with a refreshing traditional drink; afterwards, room assignment and lunch will take place.
In the afternoon, together with our guide, we will take a walk to visit a local family belonging to the Kichwa culture. At the farm, we will learn about the products they grow and participate in the harvesting of cassava (based for casabe), with which we will prepare the traditional drink known as chicha. In addition, we will be part of the preparation of a typical dish called maito, whose main ingredient will be chontacuro or mayón. It will be a unique experience to learn and connect with the local culture.
Upon returning to the lodge, we will enjoy dinner and later stay in cozy cabins built with local materials.

Day 6: Amazon

After breakfast, we will transfer to Punta Ahuano, a river port where we will board a boat to navigate along the Napo River for approximately 45 minutes. During this journey, we will have the opportunity to observe various species of native Amazon fauna, including a visit to an Amazon rescue center.
Afterwards, we will take a walk on Anaconda Island, where we will be able to observe and feed caimans in their natural habitat, having a unique experience in contact with wildlife.
Back at the lodge, we will participate in the preparation of artisanal chocolate. We will learn the entire process, from raw material to the final product, and taste this delicious preparation made with our own hands. Finally, we will enjoy dinner and accommodation at the lodge.

Day 7: Full day in the Amazon

After breakfast, we will experience a day full of adventure. Together with our native guide, we will take a walk through the tropical jungle that will take us to the route of the Pimpilala waterfalls (butterfly). During the route, we will climb waterfalls of different heights, test our adventurous spirit, while observe the flora and fauna characteristic of the Amazon forests.
We will enjoy a box lunch that will give us the necessary energy to continue the day. Afterwards, we will cross by tarabita over the Jatun Yacu River to head towards the natural pools of Yani, an ideal place to relax and enjoy free time in its crystal-clear waters.
In the afternoon, we will return to the lodge. Later, we will enjoy an exquisite dinner and accommodation.

Day 8: Route of the Waterfalls + Pailón del Diablo Waterfall + Baños de Agua Santa – Riobamba

Afterwards, we will begin our journey towards Baños de Agua Santa, where we will visit the imposing Pailón del Diablo waterfall, considered one of the most spectacular in Ecuador. Next, we will tour the main attractions of the city and, at the end of the day, we will transfer to Riobamba, where we will spend the night.

Day 9: Chimborazo Volcano

We start the day with a short visit around the city of Riobamba that allows us to discover one of the most historic Andean cities of the country, located at the foot of the majestic Chimborazo Volcano. During the tour, visitors explore its historic center, traditional squares, colonial churches, and local markets, while learning about the importance of the city in Ecuador’s history and its role within the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes. The experience combines culture, architecture, and Andean landscapes that reflect the authentic spirit of the central region of the country.
We continue to our main attraction, the majestic “Chimborazo Volcano,” the highest point in Ecuador and an impressive place where we can enjoy spectacular views of the Andes and the surrounding landscape. Day 10: Ingapirca Archaeological Complex and Cuenca Cultural Heritage of Humanity

The day begins with the visit to the complex, which allows discovering the most important archaeological site in Ecuador and one of the main legacies of the Cañari and Inca cultures in the Andean region. During the guided tour, visitors explore temples, ceremonial plazas, terraces, and ancient stone structures, among which the Temple of the Sun stands out, built with remarkable architectural precision. In addition to its historical value, the natural surroundings and the stories that surround the place offer a unique cultural experience that reveals the richness and spiritual meaning of this ancestral site.
We continue to the city of Cuenca where we will discover the charm of its historic center, with its churches, squares, and lively markets. We will walk through handicraft shops and visit the famous Flower Market, an explosion of colors and aromas. We will admire colonial houses built on the cliffs of the Tomebamba River, which divides the old city from the modern one. According to your interests, you may visit a ceramic gallery, a toquilla straw hat factory, or a local artist’s workshop.

Day 11: Artisan Towns of Cuenca

In the morning, we will visit the charming towns of Gualaceo, Chordeleg, and Sigsig, recognized for their rich artisanal tradition.
Gualaceo is a charming Andean town recognized for its textile tradition and its peaceful atmosphere next to the Santa Bárbara River. During the visit, travelers can walk through its local market and workshops where artisans make beautiful shawls, textiles, and embroidery with traditional techniques that reflect the cultural identity of the region. Its streets, landscapes, and daily life offer an authentic experience of Andean life in southern Ecuador.
Chordeleg is famous for its exquisite jewelry craftsmanship, especially for the delicate filigree technique worked in gold and silver. This small and picturesque town has numerous workshops and galleries where visitors can appreciate the talent of master artisans and learn about the process of unique pieces that have given international recognition to this town.
Sígsig is recognized as one of the places of origin of the traditional toquilla straw hat, one of the most emblematic crafts of Ecuador. In this peaceful Andean town, visitors can visit family workshops where this ancestral technique is preserved, learning about the weaving process and the cultural importance of this heritage that forms part of the region’s identity. The main fair is held on Sundays.

Day 12: Cuenca – Cocoa and Mango Farm – Arrival in Guayaquil

Departure from Cuenca to the Pacific Coast, enjoying a panoramic route through the beautiful Andean and tropical landscapes of Ecuador. On the way, we will visit the Hacienda Cocoa and Mango, where we will learn closely about the cultivation, harvest, and production of Ecuadorian fine aroma cocoa, recognized worldwide, as well as mango production in its different varieties. During the visit, we will walk through the plantations, observe rural life, and participate in a unique cultural and gastronomic experience. Additionally, we will learn about the history of cocoa, its importance in the country, and the secrets of obtaining high-quality chocolate.
At the end of the visit, we will enjoy a typical lunch prepared with fresh regional products. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to the city of Guayaquil.

Day 13: Transfer out – Hotel – Airport, flight to Galápagos

Early in the morning, our staff will pick you up from your hotel at the coordinated time to transfer you to the airport and assist you in your departure process to the charming Galápagos Islands. It is recommended to present yourself at the airport at least 2 hours and 30 minutes before the flight time, since the check-in process includes several mandatory steps:

Day 13: Flight to Galápagos – San Cristóbal Island and Highlands

Upon arrival at San Cristóbal Island, we will have private transportation to begin the excursion on this impressive island. Our guide will accompany us during the entire visit.
We will start with a stop at El Junco Lake, the only freshwater lake in the archipelago, where we can observe several seabird species. A few minutes later, we will reach a panoramic viewpoint from which we will enjoy a spectacular view of Moreno Bay, in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Then, we will visit La Galapaguera of Cerro Colorado, where we will learn about the endemic plant Calandrina galapagosa and observe terrestrial turtle’s native to the island. In the visitor center, we will learn about the natural history of the giant tortoise (Geochelone chatamensis) and its differences with other species in the archipelago in terms of origin and evolution. The last visit is Puerto Chino, an experience that combines spectacular landscapes, tranquility, and wildlife characteristic of the islands. After a short walk along a trail surrounded by coastal vegetation and lava formations, visitors arrive at a beautiful white-sand beach with crystal-clear waters, considered one of the most scenic of San Cristóbal Island. During the visit, it is possible to observe seabirds, sea lions resting on the beach, and enjoy free time to swim, relax, or simply contemplate nature in a practically untouched environment. Day 14: Daily Tour – 360°, Española, Kicker Rock, Lobos Island (subject to availability)

From San Cristóbal Island, several full-day boat tours are carried out that allow discovering the marine and landscape richness of the archipelago. The most popular are the 360° tour, the visit to León Dormido (Kicker Rock), and the excursion to Lobos Island. These tours usually depart every day from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, although they are always subject to availability of boats, weather, and regulations of the Galápagos National Park.
In general, these tours are highly recommended for first-time visitors, as they allow observing closely the unique wildlife of Galápagos and enjoying the volcanic landscape of the archipelago. In addition, each tour offers a different experience: 360° is the most complete, León Dormido is the best for snorkeling and marine life, and Lobos Island is perfect for a more relaxed and natural experience.
All have high potential, and snorkeling is a primary activity to see marine fauna, as well as visiting the island’s beaches.

Day 15: Transfer to Santa Cruz – Highlands – Private Tortoise Reserve – Lava Tunnels – Charles Darwin Station

After breakfast, your assistant will be waiting to accompany you to the pier, where we will board a public speedboat to Santa Cruz Island. Upon arrival, our guide will receive us at the pier, and we will continue with the scheduled visits. Charles Darwin Research Station
At the end of the afternoon, we will go to the Charles Darwin Research Station, one of the most important and recognized conservation centers in the world. This place is a true sanctuary for Galápagos wildlife, where unique species such as giant tortoises and land iguanas, which are only found on these islands, are protected and studied.
During the visit, we will tour the tortoise breeding centers, some of the largest in Galápagos, and observe how the young are cared for until they are ready to return to nature. If the visit coincides with the right moment, we will have the opportunity to see the legendary “Solitario George,” a worldwide symbol of conservation and proof of the value of protecting endangered species. A certified naturalist guide will accompany us, explaining in an entertaining and educational way the geological and biological history of the islands, how their unique ecosystems emerged, and the importance of conservation programs. We will learn about successful species reintroduction projects, the care of tortoises from different islands, and reforestation and invasive species control initiatives that have preserved Galápagos biodiversity.

The first visit is to one of the most important private giant tortoise reserves in the archipelago, located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. This ecological sanctuary offers a unique experience for nature lovers, allowing observation of the majestic giant tortoises in their natural habitat, without barriers or fences. Visitors can walk freely through the ranch, where tortoises move calmly among lagoons, trails, and endemic vegetation.
The Galápagos giant tortoises, such as the species Chelonoidis porteri, are known for their longevity, surpassing 100 years in their natural environment. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe them in their natural behavior, including courtship and mating, especially during the rainy season. The cool climate of the highlands is ideal for these creatures, which prefer lower temperatures.
Lava Tunnels
One of the most fascinating attractions of the reserve is its network of lava tunnels. These volcanic tubes, formed by solidified lava flows, offer an underground illuminated route that allows visitors to enter the interior of the island. Day 17: Free Day to Explore Santa Cruz Island

In the morning, visitors can walk or take a short transfer to Tortuga Bay (45 minutes by road), considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galápagos, where it is possible to enjoy the white-sand landscape, observe marine iguanas and coastal birds, and in certain areas swim or kayak in calm waters surrounded by mangroves. For those who prefer to explore on their own, the day is also ideal to walk through the town of Puerto Ayora, a vibrant place full of restaurants, cafés, small galleries, and local shops where you can feel the everyday atmosphere of the island.
In the afternoon, it is recommended to visit the Fishermen’s Wharf, where you can observe the fishermen returning with the catch of the day, a very authentic scene that allows getting to know the local life and the community’s relationship with the sea. In the same sector, it is also common to see sea lions, pelicans, and other birds approaching the pier, creating a very special moment for visitors. In addition, it is a good opportunity to walk along the boardwalk and buy souvenirs or local handicrafts.
At night, the day can end with a pleasant dinner at one of the best seaside restaurants in Puerto Ayora, enjoying fresh seafood and local cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.
